JAM CITY | Synopsis
"Jam City” follows Gabs and Cherry, teenage best friends, as they engage in shenanigans across Jam City. The two are caught graffitiing a billboard belonging to Hogsy, a crazed CEO who has a monopoly over the whole city. Hogsy has been tormented by the two friends for some time, and sends his bodyguard, Trog, to catch them once and for all. Gabs and Cherry skate across the city while Trog tirelessly follows in pursuit. Will they escape, or will Hogsy’s tyranny prevail?
Logline
Two rebellious teens, Cherry and Gabs, race through a vibrant city after angering corporate overlord Hogsy. With his enforcer hot on their trail, the pair must use their wits, skills, and trust in each other to escape.
Director's Statement
Hi, my name is Hanna, and I am the director of JAM CITY, a fast-paced animated short inspired by the funky style of early 2000s cartoons and skater video games. I absolutely adore that era’s energy and colour, and I wanted to make something just as fun, rebellious, and full of life to watch this year.
For most of us, including myself, this has been our first whole production pipeline experience on an animated short, and we have all learned so much throughout the process. At the start, all we had were a few concept sketches and a rough idea of two kids caught in a hot pursuit through the city, and now we have JAM CITY!
With the combined efforts of my wonderful team, we have brought our talents and passions together to create something we are truly proud of. I hope you enjoy the ride.
